It's been three days since my cerclage was removed and our little prince is still cooking away inside. I'm happy about that, I know with my whole "due date debate" things may be a bit off, so I hope he stays in as long as he needs to!
Yesterday, I was really crampy with a ton of pressure all day, I checked my cervix later in the day and what do you know.......I am pretty sure I was about 5-6cm. By that time in the day, I did not want to head in, so, I laid low, and thought getting a good night sleep would be the best thing! So, that's what I did. I slept decently, and woke up this morning to about a 4-5cm cervix. I figured that would happen after being off my feet all night - imagine that! I'm just hanging out wondering when I will go back to 5-6cm, that's when I will call.
I'll admit. I'm a little worried about this little guy. I just hope he's big enough and does okay when he is born. I know I felt apprehensive about the girls, too, especially Clara since she was our earliest. We've lucked out with all three girls being perfectly healthy after birth without any interventions, and I just hope that he is just as healthy as the girls are!
So, I stand here (should be sitting) wondering what today will bring.......another day wondering or the day we will meet our little prince!
Hello my name is Melissa and i have just had my first McDonald cerclage put in yesterday at 16 weeks due to incompetent cervix. Doc did this because i was diagnosed with cervical incompetence as the reason the early term labor happened at 16 weeks Jan 2010 off course baby was not at viable stage. I was wondering what symptoms did you experience after your cerclage was put in. Im having some light spotting and back pain at the moment. Which my doctor says was normal and expected. And im on bed rest for the next week. Any thing shared on your experiences post cerclage would be great.

I have had three cerclages and with each of them I did experience spotting and cramping. I was given some medication to take for the first 36 hours post insertion, and then was told I could take motrin as needed for cramping (though not to take it past 25 weeks). Your doctor is right, cramping is normal, but if you are nervous about anything, just call your doc, that is what they are there for! You don't need to stress over anything and will feel so much better when he says "it's normal". Rest as much as you can.
